Yes, they are compatible with Joomla 5.
Ok. I picked "article" under components/com_content, and now my custom css class seems to work fine (even though I didn't really do anything in the override version other than adding "This is my modified article style." to confirm it worked).

As for article date, if I want it to appear on all articles aside from the ones on my default home section, and my About-us section, what should I change in the override? An if-else that checks against the urls? (in this case "http://localhost/Joomla_5.0.3/index.php" & "http://localhost/Joomla_5.0.3/index.php/om-oss" should feature dateless articles)
