Yes, there are some extensions for that. Most of them are paid, which do not suit me qiite well. I could (and I did it in fact) embed [[youtube]] in an iFrame tag, but even workable this silution has some drawbacks:
1. Difficult to implement, have to allow iframe in your preffered editor, not quite documented;
2. Slow loading...
3. Not behind a facade - complain from a major search engine page analysis.
4. Not quite responsive
5. ... you can add here or delete some points above.
So I found a good solution here- lite-[[youtube]]-embed implemented by @brianteeman for J4 https://github.com/brianteeman/ytlite
What I doesn't like is using fields for YT url's. Probably I didn't find an easy way there.
Finally I will try to make a new plugin using the same code.
It will substitute any found string in the format of {yt/you-tube-url/title} with the actual code from Lite [[youtube]] Embed.
What I want, but I can't do right now:
- TinyMCE plugin providing WYSIWYG functionality;
- JCE plugin (my preffered editor) due to proprietary code;
- universal editor plugin placing a button outside of the editor interface.
So, what you think about all of that?
